“My favorite part of the book was the poem. It was my favorrite part because it had a lot of nice words. When I read it, it made me feel proud. it made feel proud because i’m a Military kid and my Dady(sic) is fighting for us.

We Serve Too! Around The World: Afghanistan

Our newest addition to the We Serve Too! family is our Afghanistan Coloring Booklet. We Serve Too! has begun a new line called We Serve Too! Around the World. The first of the series is Afghanistan to be followed by Iraq. Later we will add others for common places that children may accompany parents, Germany, Japan, Korea, and others.

In addition to history, foods (each booklet has a recipe) , animals, things kids do in that region, we also touch on why the American Military is there and what they are doing.

Ft. Carson Giveaway and Homecoming

This past summer Paula and I were able to visit the preschoolers at Ft. Carson giving away 500 books to the little ones. We sure had fun as we read We Serve Too! A Child’s Deployment Book to classes of Military kids! Here are some photos of the books being prepared for the kids. Each child at 4 childcare centers on the post got a deployment book, and a dog tag that says “I will be strong and courageous”. The best thing we got were the hugs!

Paula and I are in the back row of this photo, as we have some help to sort books going to each classroom.

We also had the blessing of being at a late night Homecoming , buses full of our troops returning home from Afghanistan . It is something Paula and I will never forget. Thank you Ft. Carson, and welcome home !
